For the first week of the final project of the year, as well as my time at university, I have been massively busy getting the initial start up ready for the months ahead. I've been determined to the idea of creating a first person shooter since I began the Master's course, and I feel this is the perfect time to do it.
In terms of the project, I have been mostly working on getting most of the mechanics and scripts around the character in a functioning state. This includes:
Character Movement
The dodge mechanic in its first phase
Initial scripts needed for the guns to shoot
Switch between an array of weapons
Setting up the Aim Down Sight mechanic.
Animation Set up depending what weapon the character is holding.
Reload system that is yet to be connected to the weapons.
My objectives for the upcoming week is to continue my progress at the speed I currently am completing tasks and achieve the following:
Reload system fully implemented on all weapons.
Basic UI Elements showing Health/Ammo, etc.
Fix any errors/bugs that occur.
Tweak ADS cameras on certain weapons so they line up perfectly.
Begin AI Creation.
Draft up paper level plans.
