This week the momentum has slowed a little in terms of noticeable differences, however this was due to the amount of issues I've had to fix with certain mechanics and a certain freezing problem that I believe to have fixed for the time being.

I have began the blocking out of my level for this project. I want it to be an introductory level which allows the player to learn how to play, whilst maintaining a challenging experience later on with some combat scenes that lasts between 5-10 minutes, depending on player ability and exploration. My thought process is if time is available for me I will create a short cut scene at the beginning showing how the player ends up where they start. For now the blocking out process is not complete and I have plenty more to design. However my progress is still on track according to my Gantt chart that I created at the recommendation of my supervisor for this project. Using the SuperGrid material from the Epic Games Marketplace by ZeOrb, I can blockout the level a lot better by colour coding certain objects.

I have also implemented a new mechanic that helps change the feel and flow of the game in combat areas with a Lean mechanic. This was done in the animation blueprint and rotating the character's spine. The easier method to do this mechanic would be to adjust the camera position when leaning however the issue would be that the character would be immune to damage as they weren't technically leaning round the corner. For now it doesn't flow rather well at all, however this will be tweaked in time when required.
